This Harper’s Weekly cartoon presents William Jennings Bryan as a sham doctor who dispenses useless patent medicines. The image’s main two points are that the Democratic candidate’s policy proposals will kill economic prosperity and that Bryan’s main interest is in accumulating wealth for himself at the expense of the suffering common people.
