Caption:
David Dudley Field objects to the vote of Florida This engraving shows the Senate and the House of Representatives in joint session for the purpose of counting the electoral vote. A full account of the proceedings is given in our News column. The moment chosen by our artist was when the Florida certificates were read, and the presiding officer, Senator Ferry, asked if there were objections to counting the vote of that State. |
